Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 26, 2026
Dirplay is a local music and video player. Our privacy policy is simple because there is nothing to disclose: Dirplay collects no data.
AT A GLANCE
What we collect
Nothing. Dirplay does not collect, store or transmit any personal information, usage data or analytics of any kind. Not your name, email, location or contacts, and not what you play.
Your files
Dirplay reads the folders you choose using Apple's standard file access APIs and plays your media. It remembers those folders on your iPhone so your library is ready next time, and keeps artwork and playback history on your device only.
Your original files are never changed, copied off your device, or uploaded.
Permissions
Network access
Dirplay makes exactly one type of network request: on launch it asks Apple's public iTunes Lookup API whether a newer version of the app is available, so it can prompt you to update. This request contains no personal information, only the app's public bundle identifier. Nothing about you or your files is sent.
Your choices
Remove a folder in Dirplay and it forgets that folder. Deleting the app removes everything Dirplay stored; your original files stay exactly where they were.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
